Automobiles in the Suffrage Movement: A Suffrage Centennial Special

A suffrage centennial special: Automobiles were used for campaign purposes in the suffrage movement to win voting rights for women. These photos are from the Library of Congress and the collection of Ken Florey, author of a book on suffrage memorabilia. Votes for Women campaigns decorated automobiles for parades, demonstrations and rallies. Automobiles made suffrage activists more mobile. They attracted attention when decorated and were part of many important processions.
