Sacramento California’s chapter of ANTIFA (Anti-Fascist Action) clashed with the white supremacist group  ‘Traditionalist Working Party’ early Sunday afternoon.
ANTIFA, in collaborative effort with other anti white supremacist activists,  planned a response to a preplanned white power rally on the steps of the capital building Sunday afternoon.
ANTIFA activists planned to peacefully protest the scheduled white rage rally. However events turned violent when TWP members brandished knives, and blunt objects and attacked protesters in the gathered crowd. Local media reports indicate that 10  protesters were stabbed, and many more suffered life threatening injuries.
In reaction to this event, an apparent narrative is being circulated in corporate sponsored media, labeling the ANTIFA activists as a direct threat to community safety.  Despite the clear evidence that the TWP members perpetrated the violence at the rally, media sources are pandering to protect the image of white rage by framing the TWP members as victims of ‘censorship,’ and ‘political terrorism.’

ANTIFA-SAC, as well as other activists offered their perspective to this incident:

Diana D: “TWP positions themselves as warriors for white rage, but only cowards attack an elderly woman and use the police state as cover.”

Jon D:  “Law enforcement must share the blame for each of the people who were viciously stabbed in Sacramento.  Turning a blind eye to those that were stabbed, beaten and slashed while the system protects white power,  exemplifies the  complicity of privilege and highlights the impact white supremacy has on the police state.”

Jake: “what ever the media is telling you is a lie….Of course they made the nazis look like the victims in the press. We were peaceful, we had our anti-white power protest and they were going to march down 11th. Word was at noon they were to approach from the north, they went south. We got word and started running to chase them out, they got knives and began to swing them. Someone sprayed pepper spray at the protestors, and we had to carry our people out. We chased them out of Sacramento.”
Today in Sacramento, Anti-Fascist Action in conjunction with hundreds of fellow Anti-Fascists from near and far successfully shut down the Traditionalist Worker’s Party (TWP) attempt to hold a white supremacist rally on the capitol. Protestors took and held the west steps, preventing the fascists from being able to reach their rally destination.
TWP chairman Matthew Heimbach skipped out on the rally despite making previous plans to attend, opting instead to send his footmen out to do his dirty-work. Two lone bigots briefly made their way to an adjacent side, where one of them sieg heiled on the Capitol steps. Despite the circumstances, the fascist thugs celebrate their poorly coordinated and executed "mobilization” of around 20 people as a victory, solely on the grounds that they injured more people than their opposition did.
Our victory did not come without  consequence, and several have been hurt. So far we know of 8 comrades who have been injured to a degree that required hospitalization. Our next step is to provide support for those who sustained injuries during the shutdown, as well as legal support as needed. If you want to help the brave souls who put their well-being on the line today to keep neo-Nazis and white supremacists out of our streets, we ask that you make a donation to our support fund at: https://rally.org/June26th”

While we at FFAEV support direct action through protest, and civil disobedience, violence is never the answer we hope to see as a result.

In fact we detest the actions taken against the local journalists who were attacked by an individual group of activists while reporting the incident. There are reports that the news team was assaulted, and robbed by this group of activists.

We hope ANTIFA-SAC adresses that issue.
