This made me do a double take. What about you?

It's disconcerting that some of the biggest issues in 2011 and 2012, which happen to be race-related, are being covered primarily by white reporters. I want people to look at this and realize, wait a minute — there IS bias in journalism. The things that we all care and read about are being influenced by the perspectives of people who may not even truly understand the full scope and depth of what they are writing about.

It's really important to be aware of this as you read the news each day — so please help me spread the word.

A stunning 93 percent of front-page election news stories are written by white reporters.

I am an animal. You are an animal. This isn't a bad thing. It's just the nature of who we are. All striving and suffering on a long path of burning desires, laughing, crying, smiling, fighting, joyous with the wonder of life, maddened with self consciousness. I want love. I want sex. I want security. I want companionship. I want joy. This is our human nature. Because when we talk...
When the Great Global Warming Swindle was first broadcast - climate deniers thought that at last they had the definitive polemic to beat back the forces of science and reason..... This 8 minute video corrects multiple manipulations of data presented in the film, including points relating to volcanos, sun spots, scientist quotes, out-dated findings, edited footage, and selective use of graph...
Bill Maher points out that America needs to stop bragging about being number 1, and start acting like it. Think we have the freest media in the world? We're 44th. Literacy? 55th. The most free? Bill Maher is also in: Big Pharma and Healthcare , This Isn't What I Voted For , Fake Estate Tax PSA ,
Here is the challenge of media democracy: to change the way information flows, the way we interact with the mass media, the way meaning is produced in our society. This short video – a collection of television spots and video clips produced over the years by regular culture jammers – is proof that anyone can seize the media reins and begin producing real meaning.
Two short debunkings of the British documentary that claimed people are not responsible for global warming. The audio quality of the presentation in part 1 is poor, but this and the video in part 2 are the best video responses we've found that directly critiques the main points of the film. If you're skeptical about climate change or have seen the aforementioned film, definitely take a minute...
JUST BEFORE CHRISTMAS, a few friends were having dinner wondering what personal actions they could take to help limit the power of the big banks and create a more sane, stable financial system. How, they wondered, could they help end the era of Too Big To Fail? The financier at the table recommended that everyone could move their money out of the Wall Street banks and into community banks...
Standing at the pump, watching the numbers tick away, do you ever wonder where the money goes? You're not alone: People on the other end of the pipeline are wondering too. While we feel the pinch in our pockets, citizens of oil-producing countries are often not seeing the profits. So where is your gas money going? Backroom deals. Secret payments to foreign governments. A bill now in...
Here's a big idea: Pangea Day plans to use the power of film to bring the world a little closer together. We're divided by borders, race, religion, conflict... but most of all by misunderstanding and mistrust. Pangea Day seeks to overcome that -- to help people see themselves in others -- through the power of film.
Media giant Rupert Murdoch's recent buy-out of the Wall-Street Journal is just one example in a long history of increasing media concentration in the United States, where just a handful of powerful media conglomerates control 90% of all of the information and news we read, see, and hear. Take a look at more films on the subject by viewing the "big media" and "media literacy" tags.
This video attempts to shed some light on the media coverage and accusations surrounding Ron Paul; specifically in regards to what happened in the May 15th GOP debate. Part 1 of 2. See the YouTube menu after the clip ends to view part 2. PS - This video is not an endorsement of Ron Paul. It is simply providing a good example of media bias and the techniques the mainstream news use to slant the...
