Join London divestment groups, Friends of the Earth and Fossil Free SOAS for a screening of the environmental film that is taking the world by storm. With the Paris climate summit looming, now is the perfect time to get involved in the growing campaign to persuade London's councils to divest. The film will be preceded by talks from Divest London, Fossil Free SOAS and others. The film itself will start at 8pm. Directed by Avi Lewis, and inspired by Naomi Klein’s international bestseller, 'This Changes Everything' presents seven powerful portraits of communities on the front lines in the battle against climate change. Interwoven with these stories of struggle is Klein’s narration, connecting the carbon in the air with the economic system that put it there. Filmed over 211 days, nine countries, five continents and four years, it is an epic attempt to re-imagine the vast challenge of climate change. The film aims to empower people to act against climate change by encouraging them to join together. The film will be preceded by an introduction from some of the London divestment groups, and will start at 8pm. There will be no charge, but you will be required to reserve your place on eventbrite at the following link: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/this-changes-everything-screening-and-discussion-tickets-3130103223 [please note - we will be accepting donations towards costs and future campaigns on the night.
