An Invitation to Promote Your Social-Change Inspiring Events on Lawrence.FilmsForAction.org
By Tim Hjersted / filmsforaction.org

With the new site, Films For Action aims to provide a definitive online space where people can find out what's happening in the Lawrence activist community. Think of it as a Lawrence.com for events dedicated to changing the world. Film screenings, workshops, speaker presentations, demonstrations, direct actions, skill-shares, eco fairs, activist group meetings - if it's about making the world better in one way or another, we encourage you to add the event to the calendar.

There are over 17 progressive groups in Lawrence that share a common vision of a more just, democratic, and sustainable future. We're incredibly excited about the potential this has for growing and strengthening our local movement. All events that are posted we will help promote via our FB group and newsletter. We hope our calendar will achieve three main goals:

  • To make activism more accessible to a greater number of people
  • To reduce the amount of promotional work groups must do to ensure a strong turn out at events
  • To make much of the invisible work of local groups visible to the wider community, and to other activist groups, so we can gain a better sense of our collective efforts and find areas of convergence and synergy

After you create an account on the site, you can add events via the events page. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

This calendar was made for you. Please let us know if there are any features we can add or change to make our site as useful as possible to you.

Cheers!
