Lawrence, Kansas, city limits · Cost: 0
May 1, 2011

This community-wide tour demonstrates the food-producing possibilities within our city limits. The third annual tour is scheduled for Saturday, June 11. Eighteen personal and community gardens will be open to the public during the morning hours of 9 a.m.-noon and the evening hours of 5 p.m.-8 p.m.

This self-guided tour showcases the diversity of community and personal food gardens within the city limits. Gardens will include produce, herbs, perennials, fruit trees, berries, native plants, raised beds, permaculture, companion planting, water harvesting, chicken-keeping and much more. Gardeners will be on site to give tours and share garden knowledge and inspiration.

Tour brochures and maps will be available soon at garden stores and local food venues. For a list and description of gardens on the tour, go to www.facebook.com/LawrenceFoodGardenTour and click on our Events tab.
