Locally made! "Poverty Circle" highlights the efforts of Indianapolis' SouthEast side community to create a strong neighborhood that empowers residents to escape poverty. The film explains some of the issues that put people at risk of being stuck in the poverty circle, and offers a few possible solutions. *FREE* | Doors: 6:30pm | Film: 7pm There will be Q&A with the filmmaker, Charlie Williams. This film is presented in partnership with The Southeast Opportunity Study Circle. We will break out into discussion group(s) at key junctures in the video to discuss - How gentrification, development pushing out Ft.Sq. natives, could come to the NearWest or your neighborhood - Help from within vs. help from without, how helping hands can hurt - How to engage the residents in your neighborhood, and how to engage youth Snacks provided.
