I am sharing this letter from the American Occupational Therapy Association to help raise awareness for an important health care issue:
Dear AOTA Member:
Action is needed immediately and again! We are at a critical time for efforts to repeal the cap on outpatient therapy services in Medicare. Congress has introduced a bill to permanently fix the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (also called the Sustainable Growth Rate or SGR) without permanently fixing the therapy cap.
Fixing the SGR prevents an enormous 21% cut to reimbursement rates for providers paid under the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, including all Medicare Part B OT. So while there is some good, we must get rid of the therapy cap once and for all. It must be included in this Medicare bill!
Congress needs to hear from you, their constituents, who are occupational therapy practitioners, that a permanent repeal of the therapy cap needs to be included in this legislation.
We are further along in this process than we have ever been before! Push now for a permanent repeal! Please click hereto go to our Legislative Action Center and send your Senators and Member of Congress a message – Stop the Cap!”
Thank you for your advocacy,
AOTA Federal Affairs Team
