Download and print information to share (20-30 copies of what you consider most important should be sufficient): http://www.organicconsumers.org/monsanto/materials.cfm
Our group is mostly well informed about GMOs so we do not have a speaker. We do not have a permit to use a mic and should not need one. We are ready to go! Bring friends, family and leashed pets. We are showing up for them too <3 We can keep it simple without making signs or bring our own. Post favorite photos here to share later!
Last year we talked with passersby and a local station interviewed Allen Richardson and Melinda Suelflow from the Organic Consumers Association. This year, a handful of us may also choose a route to walk and share information while the rest of us keep busy at the Minnesota Power Plaza.
Regaining control of our food supply is not an option. Neither the FDA, formerly known as 'The Chemical Division', nor the USDA will do what needs to be done at the local level. Get involved now. It is not too late to act locally. Self-educate. Inform others. Buy organic or non-GMO conventional. Support small farmers and each other however we can. We can do this.
Restoring healthy food and water is among several challenges we face. Showing up raises awareness. Sharing information and talking with people face-to-face demonstrates our concern and effort to improve our present and future. Team work makes dreams work!
