Anuncian la entrada en circulación de los primeros taxis eléctricos en Santiago

Pronto comenzarán a circular por Santiago taxis que funcionan con energía eléctrica, gracias a una licitación que abrirá hasta 29 cupos a este tipo de vehículos.

 

Según esta novedosa licitación del Ministario de Transportes y Telecomunicaciones (MTT), los taxis básicos y/o ejecutivos que decidan optar por este tipo de vehículo, tendrán además la ventaja de poder usar un color distintivo (verde y blanco, como en la foto), lo que los hará más identificables y llamativos respecto de los clásicos negro y amarillo.

 

Los primeros autos que se presentaron esta mañana y que servirán como taxis eléctricos, fueron de la marca china BYD y su modelo e6, los que cuentan con una autonomía de 300 kilómetros, con un rendimiento eléctrico aproximado de 5 km/kwh.

 

Además de no emitir contaminación por gases de CO2, estos autos no suenan, por lo que tampoco emiten contaminación acústica.

 

Los tres primeros taxis básicos comenzarán a circular en un plazo máximo de 45 días, una vez que cumplan con todas las exigencias administrativas necesarias para inscribirse en los registros del Ministerio.

 

Puntos de carga

 

Respecto a la recarga de estos vehículos, Chilectra ha desarrollado la infraestructura, con instalaciones especiales y de recarga veloz, tanto en hogares como en paraderos emblemáticos distribuidos en Santiago.

 

El gerente general de Chilectra, Cristián Fierro, explicó que, desde 2010, la empresa está trabajando coordinadamente con los diferentes estamentos para proveer a la ciudad de Santiago de una infraestructura de carga, tanto pública como privada, que permita asegurar la autonomía de los vehículos eléctricos, en este caso para los taxis, pero también para toda la movilidad eléctrica en general”.

 

Actualmente existen 10 cargadores públicos y durante 2014 se sumarán paraderos para los distintos operadores y cargadores en hogares de taxistas, para completar sobre 20 puntos de recarga públicos repartidos en Santiago. 
 
Según sus estimaciones, la carga completa de uno de estos vehículos demora alrededor de 3 horas y una carga rápida, cerca de 15 minutos.

 

Gobierno: "Es un broche de oro"

 

El ministro de Transportes y Telecomunicaciones, Pedro Pablo Errázuriz, explicó que "en forma inédita incluimos cupos para vehículos eléctricos y todos los beneficios que trae para sus habitantes y cuya principal ventaja es que no producen contaminantes locales, pues no utilizan motores de combustión interna".

 

Agregó que si bien el transporte público chileno "es el más limpio de Latinoamérica", este será "un gran aporte para la reducción de las emisiones de gases (...) siempre es bueno seguir aportando en esta dirección".

 

En tanto, la ministra de Medio Ambiente, María Ignacia Benítez, indicó que la incorporación de estos automóviles al parque vehícular viene a culminar con "broche de oro" el trabajo que han venido desarrollando como gobierno desde el punto de vista de la gestión ambiental.
