Not only has this been on our to do list for over a week now but we have also been getting recommendations from site visitors and friends to get the Story of Stuff up on the blog and into our online films section. The Story of Stuff is a fact filled animated tour of our consumer-driven culture with a focus on where our crap starts life, lives, and then dies. There is also a lot of good information that sets the foundation of basic consumer theory in a way so anyone can understand it.

What do Benjamin Franklin and oil have in common? Here is a hint… It has to do with the number 100. It looks like I am a little late on this one since I was not able to post before oil hit $100 a barrel which happened shortly after the new year. On the good side you can now actually buy a limited edition black crude necklace from Design Glut to reflect your thoughts about this brief happening that didn’t seem to make a huge fuss in the mainstream media. I am saying briefly since it was over this mark for only a short period of time. The date engraved necklace was not to be released for sale until it happened. A witty statement that I herd recently and only wish I would have thought of sums this up perfectly… “It’s Oil About the Benjamins.” The per-barrel price continues to be just a few cents under $100. More after the jump.

Represent your vast intelligence and high sense of fashion by sporting one of these little gems on your coat, jacket, shirt, baby stroller, book bag, purse, hat, bandanna, or scarf. While the designs were created in house here at Films For Action, the Lawrence Kansas based printing business known to the world as Blue Collar Press took care of production. The buttons are available at no cost. Just show up to one of our film screenings at Liberty Hall or to any other events where we might have a booth set up and grab yourself a couple.
