Inside Books Project is an Austin based non profit organization operating under the belief that every prisoner has the right to quality reading and educational materials, and that reading, learning, and self-expression are invaluable opportunities that are too often denied to Texas inmates. They have stepped up to counter the ill effects created by cuts to prison education programs and libraries which promote the idea of punishment over rehabilitation. In return, they have received some amazing art pieces which they are now making available for purchase through a silent auction. Come out, browse, buy and support this great organization! (Some pieces will be for display only.) All proceeds go to postage costs. This will also be a book drive, so time to clean out your home library and make room for something new! Or just drop some cash if you don’t have any books to donate. Timeline of Events: 6-7:30PM - Art on exhibit for bidding. 7:30PM - Bidding closes. 7:45PM – Winners announced. Please be prepared to pay for your items and bring them home. www.InsideBooksProject.org
